As an accomplished drummer in and around Melbourne, Australia model railroading wasn’t a part of Martyn’s life until his early forties 40’s but he’d always had an interest in scale models. After wandering into a hobby store with the intention of building a scale model of a travelling carnival the large O-scale layout in the shop gave him the bug and he never looked back.

His current layout resides in a dedicated building based on the bi-directional line between Newport and Geelong in 1983. He’s been an active member of the NMRA since 2008 which he believes provides inspiration and knowledge in the hobby as well as providing friendship with like minded people.
