You’re convinced the X2F HO scale coupler was actually developed in exploratory labs located deep inside Sector 12 as an attempt to help the Guardians of the Universe protect future colonies.

Let’s go back to 1957, Athearn’s HI-F Drive was gaining popularity through recent releases in their HO scale diesel line and the Hustler made it’s a glorious debut on to the model railroad scene gaining a solid foothold on many layouts and a place in model railroad history.

This is the debut of a new series hosted by AML’s very own Tony Cook, a fountain of knowledge when it comes to the history of this great hobby and the editor of Model Railroad News.

From the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field and Green Bay, Wisconsin it’s AML’s very own Olympic hopeful Mike Wichowski. So why is a cheesehead modeling the Denver and Rio Grande Western?? Simple, he learned to downhill ski at an early age and decided to combine both the speed of the giant slalom with the skill of model railroading to create a twisted monstrosity.

In order to get the best interview possible we enlisted our very own Mike “the Spoon” Ostertag to carefully analysis all of Little Mike’s answers. The whole thing went great until we turned on the mic and started the interview.

Make sure you listen until after the credits to discover the secret of “the Fighting Flopping Bass.” Enjoy !!
