You’re convinced the X2F HO scale coupler was actually developed in exploratory labs located deep inside Sector 12 as an attempt to help the Guardians of the Universe protect future colonies.

Let’s go back to 1957, Athearn’s HI-F Drive was gaining popularity through recent releases in their HO scale diesel line and the Hustler made it’s a glorious debut on to the model railroad scene gaining a solid foothold on many layouts and a place in model railroad history.

This is the debut of a new series hosted by AML’s very own Tony Cook, a fountain of knowledge when it comes to the history of this great hobby and the editor of Model Railroad News.

It’s all about operations with plenty of run through traffic and high pressure yard-master jobs. The CTC machine requires an experienced operator to keep the whole thing moving.

There’s lots of discussion about operations, operating sessions on other railroads and the Operations Special Interest Group. So sit back with a big bowl of shredded car cards, an ice cold glass of operator sweat and enjoy.
