The building is 9,500 square feet featuring a 5,500 sq. foot HO gauge model railroad layout and displays over 1,100 railroad artifacts from across the United States.

Visitors can also “train watch” during their visit to the museum because it’s located between two actual railroad properties: the Union Pacific on the east and the Great Western to the west in Greeley, Colorado.

You’re convinced the X2F HO scale coupler was actually developed in exploratory labs located deep inside Sector 12 as an attempt to help the Guardians of the Universe protect future colonies.

Let’s go back to 1957, Athearn’s HI-F Drive was gaining popularity through recent releases in their HO scale diesel line and the Hustler made it’s a glorious debut on to the model railroad scene gaining a solid foothold on many layouts and a place in model railroad history.

This is the debut of a new series hosted by AML’s very own Tony Cook, a fountain of knowledge when it comes to the history of this great hobby and the editor of Model Railroad News.
